So it was that time again, round 3 of the British Autograss Series at Scunny and UK Autograss Championship at Cambridge
BAS
Well after a busy week getting Sue and Liam Nicholls class 8 ready for the weekend, we knew it was going to be a weekend of trial and error as they get used to the new car which is now like Aby’s. However, Sue flew off the line as always, and was in the top 10 over night after some good results on Saturday! After Liam’s roll last Sunday, you never would have known that he’d become a gymnast in a race car as he had a stormer of a race to finish second.. we think he may have his mojo back, fingers crossed! We are certain that it wont take long for them to get used to their new car, and they will be back at the front in no time!
Aby had a brilliant round and took 2 wins on the Saturday to be joint top qualifier over night which has never happened in her class 8 career, this was a brilliant start. With just a top 4 finish needed in Sunday’s heat 3, she finished 2nd to be top qualifier for the final which again has never happened to her in class 8! We were absolutely thrilled with the car and how it is performing, not changing a thing throughout the weekend as it performed so well. Aby came home in one piece to finish 5th in the final.. still hunting down that trophy and to be in the top 4 in the standings!
So close.. Tia Rees was joint 6th qualifier in to her 3rd BAS final in a row and had a great battle with 2 other drivers. She drove brilliantly and the potential the car has is becoming more and more apparent each time we see it on track. Tia had great results in the heats and chose grid 6 in the final. After a brilliant battle, Tia flew across the finish line in 1st place.. unfortunately she picked up a green flag for clipping 2 cones, which put her back into 3rd. It is still the best result of the weekend at BAS, and we know she is chasing that 1st place in the standings. As you can see from the image before you clicked on this post.. Tia always has a smile on her face!

A massive congratulations goes to Lynn Thomas on winning the ladies class 5 final this weekend in her sons car! We are thrilled for you back here! Congratulations also goes to son Aaron for finishing 3rd in the men’s 5 final!
Young Cory Mumford had a great start to his weekend taking 2 wins on Saturday. This left him top qualifier over night. Unfortunately the rain came down hard on Sunday leaving Cory unable to see in his 3rd heat so he pulled off.. we’ve all been there! Still high in the standings after this we hoped Cory would pull it back on a dryer track and be back to what he does best. However, Cory hurt his hand in a first corner incident and drove most of the race one handed. Well done anyway to Cory who we know tries his best in any situation and will be back leading his races in no time!
