BAS RD4 Hosted by the Wiltshire League

A mix of weather to be experienced at the BAS this weekend which made the track conditions very tricky. An unusual track compared to normal provided some interesting racing but with Rd4 being the penultimate round, everyone was flat out trying to accumulate as many points as possible.
Starting with the Heats:
3 rounds of qualifying with various weather conditions made qualifying a bit trickier than normal. Here are some of the results!
BC21 Andrew Sheppard – 5/3/4 leaving him 13th qualifier for the final.
C115 Matt Owen – 4/bf/1 picking up his first BAS heat win of the year.
YD7 Liam Nicholls – 6/4/4 Picking up a green flag
ST691 Zack Yeardley – 3/BF/5
7F Graham Bennett – 5/DNF/3 A difficult weekend with the new car but still some progress made heading into rd5.
IK95 Emma Shell – 5/4/5 Competing in her first ever BAS Round.
C115 Cordeen Barnett – 3/6/2 Leaving her 10th and her best results yet.
ARC2 Charlene Hankey – 5/2/4 Some great results once again at the BAS.

On to our Finalists!
Our first finalist and a regular mention in our posts is Junior Special driver 161F Cory Mumford. Cory is in his first year of taking part in the BAS and has so far made every final this year. Cory had accumulated enough points over the course of the year to sit second overall coming in to this round. Starting off round 4 perfectly Cory picked up 3 wins, leaving him top qualifier into his 4th BAS final of the year. Cory finished the final in second place, putting him top of the shop overall in the points at the moment. Tensions will be rising heading into RD 5 but whatever happens Cory Mumford is a superstar already and a great lad all round.
Our next finalist… and its about time she had some luck, was Ladies Class 8 driver YD7 Sue Nicholls! As always, Sue was very chilled about the weekend, expecting son Liam to win their rivalry again this weekend. However she didn’t expect to pick up 2 wins and a 2nd and be joint top qualifier into her BAS final. With Sue’s years of experience, the track suited her and once she got into her groove she was away and stayed their with perfect results to add to it. Team BB was so happy for Sue and family as she will admit her luck hasn’t been the best lately but she came home with 6th place and a bump up to 10th Overall in ladies 8.
Our final finalist of the weekend was someone who also deserved some luck. Ladies Class 10 Driver NS6 Becky Faulkner has had some issues getting to grips with the new car. However Becky and Dad Kev were ecstatic to come home with a 1st place pot and the title of BAS RD4 Champ. With round 5 creeping up on us already, Becky is hoping to grab some more points to add to her second place spot and close the gap on 1st and pick up some more trophies along the way. Well done Becky!
