Scunny Shakedown!

Scunny Shakedown!

12th/13th March saw us make the long awaited trip up to Scunthorpe for the first meeting of the year. We had a great turn out of BB cars from all over the country and it was great to be back doing what we enjoy.

Starting with Josh Morgan and his new class 9. Josh joined the team and is new for 2022, however he settled in brilliantly. As a chassis builder, we couldn’t have been happier with the way the car handled and the power it has down the straight, It certainly made a brilliant start straight out of the box. You can already see that this Type R powered machine has so much potential and with a few more tweaks it will definitely be a top runner this season!Credit- MOO PICS

Next up we have Matt Owen who stormed through his first race and went on to win. This was the cars first appearance on track and we were impressed with the way it had performed. You could see the enjoyment in his face as Matt and his partner Cordeen built the car up themselves at home, so all that hard work was worth it! It was great to see new customers pull that out of the bag straight away and this only means there is more to come from it. Cordeen had a brilliant race in her first time out in the car. She was nervous but the smile on her face made it all worth it. After a few races each, and a big smile they loaded up and finished for the day.

Marc and Tayla Jade Paskell also have a new car to them this year. After a few teething problems in the morning and a change of shocks, the car was on song for the rest of the day and we had a very happy father/daughter. It came across as a massive confidence boost for Titch, and it was clear that she was very happy. Marc took a win in the second run and again seemed happy with the way the car had performed.Credit-MOO PICS

Another member of the Paskell family Skye gets a very special mention. Skye has been improving massively over the last year and this weekend she has upped another level. Skye has one of our new chassis and is growing into it nicely and beginning to understand the Junior Special way of driving. You can see Skye has and is growing into a very mature way of driving. Well done Skye!Credit- MOO PICS

Cory Mumford was back out on the junior day on Saturday and quickly got back into the swing of it. Cory made the national final last year, and once again he is looking like he will have a positive season ahead of him, taking on a new challenge of the British Autograss Series. He had plenty of laps on Saturday and will be back out in 2 weeks!

Finally, Aby had a difficult day with our own car. With problems throughout the day, it led to a very stressful start to the season. However by race 3 and a few changes, we fixed the problem and she was extremely happy with the performance of the engine from DM Racing and is feeling happy with the season ahead. Teething problems!! As you can see though, she was happy to be back!Credit- MOO PICS

Cheers for checking back with our first season update. We will be back with another update soon!
