UKAC RD 3

UKAC RD 3

For round 3 of the UKAC, competitors made their way up to York for what was a successful meeting in the sunshine.

Starting with Men’s class 5, Aaron Mason R19 has had a storming first half of the championship, picking up multiple wins in the heats and final wins as well. This round was no different, collecting 3 wins and 165 points to add to his championship lead in the heats but unfortunately having some issues in the final. Aaron is currently 60 points ahead of 2nd place going into round 4!

Onto men’s 7 and Lisa Charles made the trip up to York and collected some great points over the weekend, completing 2 heats having a 2nd in one of them. Dan Parker made his come back after a huge roll at round 2, after the damage repaired and a new shell it looked good as new and he picked up a 3rd and a 4th for his first race meeting back and first before the men’s nationals

Leo Goodman in only his second meeting out in the car pushed himself right into the deep end jumping into a UK round, but nevertheless he provided some great results over the course of the weekend in his class 9. Leo achieved a 2nd and a 3rd over the weekend, he is still getting used to the car so this a great achievement straight out of juniors.

Chris Ashwin is now leading the UK after taking a win in the final last weekend, accompanied by some great results and a black flag through the heats. He is now just 12 points clear of the class 10 title and he is looking to keep that lead heading into round 4 and his home track of Forest of Dean.

Finley Winter had a great run of results at round 3, a 1st, 5th and 4th put him into his 2nd final of the season, also racing a junior saloon, he has the experience of the track before hand, giving him an advantage of track time. Some great results by Finley.

A great appearance from BB at the UKAC. Well done to all drivers.

We now look towards the Mens Nationals 2022, where the best drivers in each class from around the country will battle it out to become the National Champion in their class. We have a great showing of BB cars taking part this year, and we would like to wish them all the best of luck for the pinnacle event of our sport.

If you would like to come and have a look or a weekend away, please look at the National Autograss website for fixtures or the poster below for the Men’s Nationals specifically. Come and watch the cars you’ve been reading about!
