Moggy hot rod build!
Share
Just over 6 months ago, David Dinwoodie came to us with an old moggy that needed restoring with ambitions to be a hotrod on the road. It was the opportunity for our lads to be creative and have a bit of freedom with aluminium work and the aesthetics of an old moggy and adapt it with a modern drag car feel.
A full build project is what we love here at BB and everything from the roll cage to the engine mounting, to the fuel tank and ally work was all completed by ourselves in house. This will be put back on the road, with the occasional bit of drag racing in the middle. We were up for the challenge to make this look stunning, make it safe, and make it enjoyable to drive, and we think it will be just that!
This car will have a V8 engine in the front, so plenty of power to make it go as good as it looks in a straight line.
The seats have now been moved further back to provide extra rear weight and put the bespoke fuel tank and battery in the boot as well as resealed some parts of the shell to make it safer for the driver.
Although at the start of this project we were only given the task of the chassis, we were privileged to have the opportunity to build this car from the ground back on its way to former glory and we are excited to see the finished result in its home territory.. on a drag strip!
This project has had many positive comments throughout the build on social media and people love to see something different! We will post the finished product on our website and social media pages later on in the year!
