When BB Brought Home a Rat Rod….

When BB Brought Home a Rat Rod….

BB are entering the world of hot rods!!!!

We like to be different at BB so don’t expect to see an American base chassis with American power train that’s the easier way to do it.

We at BB look for the different so we started off by buying an on-going project from a guy after a drunken night on eBay.

The Riley RME that they had Frankenstein’d just had the ‘help me’ look to it. We took it in under our wing with all the intentions of turning out something just that little bit untoward quite quickly

As always though at Team BB customers come first so it has actually taken us 9 months to pull out of storage’ but within this short amount of time we’ve came up with a decent plan of attack.

First things first remove the Chrysler and flight box stripped off the body and put some length back in to the chassis, rebuilt a floor frame in but higher making it have a lot lower stance all over. We have gone away from the saloon car look, and on with a flatbed pick up’ we also decided to implant a Lexus quad cam v8 and auto transmission back in where were hoping this will give us a smooth reliable drive train that makes any journey a pleasure but also in keeping with the BB theme of being just a little left field.

The front suspension set up off the standard RME has been removed and we will build are own double wish bone front suspension and cantilever front suspension set up once we have the motor fully fitted and radiator placement sorted.

BB will aim for a really sleek interior of thick pile carpet leather seats and trim panels a few electrical goods to make the journeys from show to show a lot more appealing. We will also be adding modern hub and brake assemblies meaning you will have no fear of stopping for people to look as you pass by.

The aim for this vehicle is to have the effect of a stripped back rat rod hot rod style vehicle but with some luxuries that make it a pleasure to drive and show.

Below are a few pics of the vehicle we first bought back at Christmas and what we have achieved in amongst customer work over the last 2 weeks. Please keep checking back with us as the build process goes through and if you’re interested in purchasing the vehicle and adding your own touches why not call Graham with your ideas to add as we go along
